Great any day between now and March 21!
Most Charlottesville area wineries are open year round, so don't think that an escape to the grapes is just for summer or fall! Winter is perhaps the best time for a wine tour. The leaves are gone, so the mountains offer fabulous views, and the wineries are open but uncrowded, providing the opportunity for more personal service. Add all of the new releases and you have an exceptional wine experience!
The Winter Wine Excursion starts at $139/per person. It includes a knowledgeable guide, door to door service anywhere in the Charlottesville area, tasting fees to include reserve samples, plus a picnic lunch & bottled water. Wineries are selected based on the location of your accommodations, the needs of your group & your tastes in wine.
We offer service throughout the state. Let us know where you'll be visiting and we'll create the perfect itinerary to meet your time frame and budget.
Reserve your day in wine country!

Guided Tours
Wine Tours of Virginia will customize a wine excursion to meet your needs. We offer 1 to 5 stop interactive wine tours to accomodate your time frame.
Our staff will escort you to one or more award-winning wineries. Visit their tasting rooms, sample their award winners, venture into the barrel room for a tasting, enjoy a blind tasting to compare a Virginia wine to a wine from another internationally-acclaimed growing region. Take a stroll through the vinyeard, interact with a winemaker, winery principle or knowledgeable staff member. Learn about the history of Virginia winemaking and discover why winemakers from France to South Africa are flocking to Virginia to make wine. Lunch is offered during the four and five stop tours. Our fees are all inclusive. They include unlimited tastings (including reserves), chilled bottled water and lunch when applicable. Once you book your tour, we will call you within 24 hours to confirm your arrival date and discuss your tour itinerary in detail.
See our themed excursion page for package ideas.

Drive Yourself Tours (Self-Guided) You know where you're going, and you know what you like, and you even have a designated driver, but with over 140 wineries in Virginia, how do you choose the wineries which are the best for you?
Given the current political climate, Wine Tours of Virginia can no longer offer a Self-Guided Tour. It simply makes no sense to not have a designated driver or tour guide. We are more than happy to make a suggestion as to which winery to visit for no charge.
